From Southampton’s fractured estates trapped in grey, and on society’s borders, four young buzz hungry troubadours fallen from the production line and fused together set out. Bound by wit, amphetamine nights, and a rebellious petty criminality, they traded street corners for the stage. At their shows a raw and very British sound bursts through the venues with similar energy of Cavern era Beatles, and streetwise lyrics delivered to everyone on a personal basis.

Stil: Unsere Musik ist hauptsächlich von Rock'n'Roll Bands aus den 60ern und den 90ern geprägt. Wir haben genauso Punk wie Beat Einflüsse.
English: At first Lars and Grimm started playing guitar and bass guitar in summer 2004 and were thinking about starting a band soon. We found the drummer Jonas in november 2004 and decided to start the band called "Brainflowers". After our first few practices in Jonas cellar we found a "real" practicing room in the OT in Olpe. In the following year 2005 Lars and Grimm started to write their own Songs and we had our first gig at the Rock-Night 2005 in springtime. We had a few more concerts in the following time which were all very succesfull. We then decided to change our style which lead to us asking Philipp to play the Bass, this meaning we could now play with two guitars. Since Septembre 2006 we also have a new drummer called Felix because our old one wanted to make a different kind of music.
Style: Our music is mainly influenced by rock'n'roll bands from the 60's and the 90's.We have punk influences such as beat.

Some news about the Stud: The Stud is recording in these days their new EP "Stars in the soup",they hope to finish their hard working in June. There will be songs called "Turn around" or "Don´t wanna go" who´ll really make you rollin´... The band "The Stud" has been inspired by the psychodellic sound of the sixties. The rough unrefined guitar riffs, smoky leadingvocals like Bob Dylan and soft backingvocals in the Beatlesstyle together with the powerfull beats of the bass and drums, take us back to the years of vinylmade discs and shaking moptops. The Stud was founded in 2005 by it' s singer Jonathan in Barcelona, where they started with a serie of concerts and expanded it to whole Spain and later to America. In 2006 the band returns to Europe,Germany to give a lot of concerts in whole Germany and to record some new songs.
Hailing from Doncaster; NEON PLASTIX live on the sunny-side but cross over the tracks to practice, where they call an industrial welding estate home and nobody minds the electro pop disco racket there! Since 2005 they’ve taken over their home town with an explosion of sound, playing their take on influences ranging from Devo, Talking Heads, Japan, to The Rapture, The Faint, Hall and Oates… the list is endless.
They released their limited debut “Prick Tease” / “Neon Invasion” in February 06 which gained support from Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 and Silent Dave on Virgin Xtreme. Since then they’ve been playing up and down the UK along the way bagging supports for The Kooks, White Rose Movement, The Infadels, Klaxons, Robots in Disguise, Test-Icicles, The Duels, The Blood Arm, Good Shoes, The Flesh, Supersystem, Shy Child, Howling Bells, Clor, and The Young Knives.
Last summer they played the launch parties for Vice Magazine in both Antwerp and Amsterdam, and have played some great parties in both Italy and Germany. Last September the band completed their selftitled UK ‘Tour O’ Doom’ (complete with onstage exercise machine for any willing members of the audience) taking in the Barfly venues around the country and culminating in a Club NME headline slot at London’s KOKO.
This Summer they played at Glastonbury, where the BBC had a stage especially for 24 unsigned bands hand-picked from music industry experts. Later in July the guys will be touring with ‘Shiny Toy Guns’ as their main support, taking in more Barly venues across the country, culminating in another Club NME gig at the KOKO. More neon vibes will be unleashed on the beautiful city of Prague later on in Summer.

"Gründer des Musikgenres MAXIMAL ist das Kölner Dreigespann MALK. Gelangweilt von pulssenkenden Minimal Elektro Beats produzieren sie ein anarchistisches Soundgewitter aus Techno – Rap & Trash aka MAXIMAL. Germany 2007: Rotznasiger Garage-Postpunk mit wilden, diletantischen NDW- und 60s-Britpop/rock-Referenzen ist nach wie vor DER Konsenssound nahezu jeder Indie/Alternativedisse hierzulande. Die CANDIDS aus Lennestadt/Olpe spielen geschmackssicher, hemmungslos und unkalkuliert auf und schaffen es, trotz aller Referenzialitäten ein gutes Stück Originalität zu verkörpern, was in Anbetracht des immer unübersichtlicher werdenden Wusts an neuen Acts dieses Styles umso erstaunlicher ist."Don`t fuck the 90s" ist denn auch ein wilder, trotz aller Retroästhetik frischer und ungekünstelter Garage-Kracher voll auf die 12. You can dance, Baby!

Party Nonstop! Hier mischen sich ein Schlagzeug, das mit einem typischen New Wave/80er-Beat vorantreibt, ein ebenfalls den 80ern entsprungenes Synthiekeyboard und eine Leadgitarre, deren Melodien man nicht so schnell aus dem Kopf bekommt. Außerdem punktet der zweistimmige Gesang der beiden Sänger. Trotz der einigermaßen guten Aufnahme, kann man ruhigen Gewissens empfehlen, sich mal näher mit dieser Band zu beschäftigen.
